The customer was looking for a solution to optimize loading of articulated lorries and warehouses can be limited by the number of dock doors and the speed that they can be loaded. The solution was to build an automation pod holding 16 no. articulated lorry trailers with a crane’s system. This is part of a larger project of the warehouse build, installing mezzanine floors with interconnecting automationbringing the good to the trailer pods.

Working alongside a larger build project, AGF modified and installed steelwork on the mezzanine floors and dropped floor levels with redesigned structural steelwork to accommodate the new automation whilst manufacturing and installing several miles of track for the carts to travel.
AGF designed and installed a new lifeline system for maintenance engineers to safely access the cranes. Building pedestrian bridges for crossing points over the automation. We designed, manufactured and installed a walkway along the top of the pods for maintenance access.
AGF are the first company in the UK to build the trailer pod. The project was finished on time and on budget.
